356 identifies the car. The engine determines the part.
When choosing Porsche 356 engine parts, distinguish the Carrera four-cam engine from a pushrod engine. In this Porsche context, four-cam, 4-cam, 4cam and Fuhrmann engine refer to the bevel-shaft-driven engine. Model series and year alone are not enough to establish part fitment.
